November 2018: Research proposal "Mathematical analysis of parameter dependent multi-scale models for electrically active implants" of Prof. Jens Starke got final approval of the DFG. His project is now part of ELAINE as A06. Welcome in our team!
17-22 September 2018: The CRC 1270 ELAINE at the Highlights der Physik in Dortmund - The topic of the Highlights der Physik in 2018 was "Physics in Medicine and Sciences". The heart and soul of the science event is a great hands-on exhibition where we had a stall with different exhibits. Our representatives in Dortmund: Dr. Renko Kensbock (Greifswald), Dr. Ingo Barke (Rostock) and Dr. Dirk Hecht (Rostock).
July 2018: Frank Krüger from the INF project has received a GESIS grant for a research stay to work on the topic of automatic extraction references to research artefacts from scientific publications.
26 April 2018: The ELAINE-Projects A01, A03, B01, C01 und C03 presented their work at the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften. Interested visitors could get information by poster walls about our Collaborative Research Center and get a hands-on insight into research through exhibits and experiments. We thank you for the great interest and will be part of the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften again next year.
28 March 2018: The principal investigators Prof. Sander (B05) and PD Klüß (B02) attracted a DFG-Project called "Analysis of risk factors for periprosthetic fracture of the endoprosthetic total hip using finite-element-modeling" which is associated to their Elaine projects.
February 2018: Diana Lu of Columbia University, US, has been granted a RISE DAAD stipend für an internship in the group of Prof. Ursula van Rienen
